OT: FUCK MOTHER FUCKING YES!!!

While I and a good percentage of this country ( the ones that aren't retarded and or deluded and or brainwashed by FOX fucking news ) are super beyond stoked at quite possibly THE most ground breaking election this country has seen in years, the truth of that matter is that no one person has the power to fix all that ails this country. President Elect Barack Obama is a symbol of hope we can all believe in. But it's going to take all of us working together to undo the irreparable damage that the current administration has done to this country, at home and abroad. It's going to take YEARS before things really get better. So let's roll up our fucking sleeves people and get this shit back on track!!!

Oh and if we could pull a Ceaucescu on Bush that would be pretty awesome too!

Is calling none obama voters retards part of the working together thing?

Do you really have to ask that question knowing SARAH PALIN would've be vice president? Nevermind McCain, that alone is reason enough to have ones fucking head examined!

What's so evil about sarah palin again? I get her lack of experience on the national stage, but that criticism can equally be applied to obama. Is she a religious nutjob, like half of the population? Is she a retard, like 95% of the population? Can she not govern? Is she a good ole boy? I did not vote republican, so it'd be hard to argue i've been brainwashed by fox news, or need to have my head examined. What I find easier to argue with is this seemingly blind hatred for the other side (in this case the republicans). What am I missing that would lead me to paint all conservatives as evil and liberals as saintly saviors? Maybe you feel a balls out approach is the best way to make others see things your way, and I agree with that when it comes to bike related content, but when it comes to politics, I tend to focus more on reason and logic. And how is the most bipartisan member of congress extreme anyway?

Hells-to-the-mother fuckin yeah!!! What an inspirational night. I'm glad I got to see/be a part of all this. You're right, we do have a lot of work to do. It's a happy occasion even though I'm still bummed that California uphelp prop 8.

Do we not all realize that those making 250k or more will find ways around the tax increases. Our tax code is so fucked as is it's probably only going to produce half the amount in revenue expected by predictions, which is a problem since there are already so many earmarks.

P.s any news that comes out of the T.V. is fucking garbage regardless of what channel it's on.

ant1 - I never said Sarah Palin was evil. I just think she represents a side of the American public that really shouldn't have a say in the process after the unconscionable mess they've helped create. I know, doesn't sound too liberal now does it? Well, guess what- I'm not a liberal. I think super liberal people have the potential for being just as much a problem as the far right conservatives can be. I wasn't saying 'you' needed your head examined. Just the people who thought that having Palin in a position of power would be a good idea. Anyways, it doesn't have anything to do with lack of experience on either Sarah or Obama's part. It's more about who has a better grasp on the reality of our current situation. The one who's interested in standing up for the 'Hockey moms' and giving 'shout outs' during a live televised vice presidential debate, or the one looking out for this country as a whole and what we need to do to make EVERYONE not only happy and healthy, but make this country strong AS A WHOLE again too. I'm sorry but all this RA-RA flag waving god bless America bullshit hasn't been working out for us lately. I'm all for this country getting back on it's two feet but it's time we take a different approach. No, it's not going to be easy, and yes, it's going to take a lot of fuckin' balls and hurt feelings to do so...

Kyle - Good fuckin' point man! Being way under the 250k mark, means I'm pretty fucked as far as paying taxes go. Not to mention where the last 18 fucking years of my social security taxes I've been paying has been going. If I don't retire rich I'm essentially fucked!

I agree with most of your points. The one thing I have a problem with is the "different approach" concept, which I put in the same bag as the "change" concept. It seems every 4 to 8 years we "change our approach". Where has that gotten us? Wall street bailout of today/S&L scandal of the 80's. Stock market bubble of the 90s/housing bubble of today. Gas crunch of the 70s/gas crunch 0of today. This change is nice and all when you take history as 4 year slices, but when you look at the grand scheme of things, we are just a pendulum swinging back and forth between two extremes. And everytime we get to swinging a different way, half of the population thinks we're going somewhere new. The two party system has everyone locked into the mindset of us vs. them, everyone thinks they have to pick one side or the other. You say superliberals can be as much of a problem. How liberal is obama, compared to the other senators? and how conservative is mccain? and if obama is trying to make everyone better off, why are 40% of people against him? And if he is going to make it better for everyone, where is the money going to come from?

ant1 - Those are all great fuckin' questions man! What it comes down to is that everyone thinks they're right and no one thinks they're wrong. When they're wrong, they point the finger to divert attention away from themselves rather than admit to their own faults and short comings. When they're right, they want all the credit and seldom share the glory with others. It's human but it's fucking bullshit at the same time. The pendulum you speak of is totally true and foreseeably never ending. I think dissolving the parties would quite possibly be the one of the best things for this country right now. Not the easiest thing, but in time I think it would work for the betterment of society. Hence the whole purple thing instead of red and blue. But just like getting rid of all the fucking yellow taxi cabs here in NYC, it's just not going to happen despite the fact that it's probably the best thing for us. People like their creature comforts. Just like the way people find comfort in taking sides. It means they're not alone and defenseless. This is something that needs the most changing in our society. People shouldn't be punished or looked down upon for their opinions or questioning others. They should be revered for their fortitude. Most people aren't willing to take a chance and stick out of the crowd. It's those who do that the rest of us need to take example from...

wmd - that's why I throw my vote away to any available third party every election, and why I love to engage die hard (insert party here) supporters every chance I get. Their views are only defensible (and defended for that matter) within the limitations of a two party system. If you don't take that system as a given, solutions abound.

There really is nothing better than fucking with people isn't there? I mean, in just about any way but in particularly with politics! Oh you know what's even better? Witnessing mass disappointment. It's like being lucky enough to actually see someone slip on a banana peel!
Yeah, I would go the whole independent party vote route too but after the whole Nader/Bush/Gore fiasco I'm super paranoid about it...

wmd - that's how they want you to feel about it.

yes, no she cannot, no, she is an out of touch puppet

you may not be brainwashed, but you are ignorant to think it's blind hatred. She is a moron: a fucking infected zit on the face of rational thinking and what is right. Pop the bitch and let's go to prom.

This blog rocks. Sack up and go ride a bike.

Ant1-
Multiple party systems where delegates are awarded on a percentage system can lead to ultra extremes though. The most extreme example being Weimar Germany.

I prefer a federalist approach to the whole government. With a general laissez faire approach to the economy. My main issue though with this approach although that produces a weaker policy abroad which may or may not be a good thing.

holy tap dancing christ. ant person... have a beer, rub one out, pray, do what you need. but chill the fuck out. ride your bike. have some fun, and make your own changes. stop relying on some magical overlord to govern your "freedom."
and if you want to make a point by arguing on the internet, use all caps. everyone knows that. it gets the truth through quicker.

Dude this blog is awesome! And ya, Palin, Moron. I'm sorry she just is. Anyone who hunts wild animals from a helicopter is a redneck retard who should certainly not be running a country let alone one of the most powerful countries on earth. McCain, not a bad guy, not the brightest guy, but his party is just a line of retards behind him who will ultimately determine what "he" does, so it doesn't matter if he himself is a good person. Obama, not perfect maybe, but a whole shitload better than any other option. Up in the great white north we have a retard bush assmonkey for PM so Obama is certainly someone to look up to at the moment. So my American friends, chill out and be happy bush and his cronies are on the way out.
