My buddy Tom's machine gun shoot photos up on Time Magazine's Lightbox!

While I'm super stoked on Tom's photos getting published on Time's photo site, I'm still super bummed I couldn't go have a little fun in the sun with hella gunz!

Good times huh?!

Be sure to check the rest of em' out on Lightbox!

Just a few snaps from the BFF..

I hung out at the Bike Film Festival street party last weekend for a bit. Didn't really take too many snaps tho. Here's the few I thought were worth sharing:

HUGE air:

What you're not seeing is how the landing ramp was off kilter to the take off one..

This kid pulled some crazy ass bio-flip shit to fakie and actually stuck one of em!:

Then there was these two:

I can only speculate as to what that girl had tattooed on her lip that they felt was worth documenting..

Anyways, just been keeping busy as per usual. Got plenty to catch up with on here and I'll get to it when I have some free time..

Bike Fetish Day 2011!

Yeah, I know I took forever getting to these photos. I bought this KICK ASS new retouching screen that I've been needing SO BAD since I thankfully lost my job last November. Normally I'd be super stoked on a nice new piece of tech like this, only I was faced with an unexpected dilemma- it too closely reminded me of what in my mind seems like endless years of unrelenting toil spent in grey windowless offices. Yeah, fucking ICK dude! Basically I got it, plugged it in an used the handy dandy little calibrator that came with it. Then not long after bringing and image up to mess around with I felt a cold shiver run up my spine and I shut it off. I finally found my courage to use it again last night so here we go!

Simon's always got some bike you need earmuffs to look at ;-)

I wanted a proper dog SO. BAD. after working on this one:

lil homie came correct huh?!:

Horse's new polo bike:

This dude's bike was amazing!:

My lady enjoying a Guinness in a coffee cup:

Apparently if you're a cute 100lb Korean girl, not only does it mean you get free dry cleaning for life but you get bar service at all the bodegas as well. Despite her claims to 'twinkie' status I'm always amazed at how stereotypes work :-)

Speaking of stereotype's, here's my dumb honky ass accepting a default victory in the 'Best Handbuilt Bike' category (pic by Lucas with my cam). I was so bummed about no one else bringing anything to the table that when I was handed the mic I berated the crowd. I tried my best to convince them that freak bikes are the jam and that they should get on that shit already! Fucking pussies man- COME ON!!

Well, my new buddy Hill must have heard call of me sounding the freak bike horn cause not long after I spoke, him and his buddies showed up with three TOTALLY MMMMMMENTAL tall bikes that kicked so much ass it's not even funny- check em out!:

HOW

FUCKING

AWESOME

ARE THOSE?!

I was super stoked to see someone else building super rad and well built tall bikes in NYC. Mostly because it made me feel a little less crazy.. Well, not really. Anyways yeah, super stoked to meet him and his buddies. I took a couple of em out for a spin and they took turns on my mini tall roadie. His were closer to the standard double frame tall bike height which sketched me out at first since it had been a while but they were super fun. The green MTB one was my personal fav with it's fatty tires. Reminded me that I REALLY need to get off my ass and take pics of the new jam I made before my sudden trip to Colorado..

I was telling him we all need to get together and get a proper ride going soon. Unfortunately it'll have to wait a little while since he was heading out of town for three months for a trip. I'll def have to get some more snaps with him and his sweet freaks when he gets back. Til that there's lots more on his flickr page.. Oh and there's a few more snaps from the day on my flickr page as well..

In other news the Jackson and a few other tid bits are going up on the bay tomorrow. Just gotta make some snaps today and I'll post the items and auction links tomorrow..

I've also been thinking a lot about a major redesign of the blog lately. I've just been having such a good time with this whole sense of clarity and purging kick going on since my return from Rifle. I feel like a revamp is LONG overdue. But don't worry, despite the update it'll be the same blog about the same randomly awesome bike shit. Hopefully with a lot more posts about other cool shit too!

NOS 86' Miyata Triple Butted Team Pista with DA10!!

A pretty damn sweet set up from Glib of Kiev Fixed Gear:

I sold him the first bit of DA10 I let go from my collection a while back and I'm super stoked to see it go to good use on a really bitchin' frame! I've always dug Miyata's but it was just one of those frames I could never find for myself..

Nice job on the build man- enjoy that shit!!

I'm pretty sure I'll be letting go of one last DA10 set up along with the last frame I can sell: the S+S coupled Bob Jackson Track. If anyone's interested just hit me up otherwise you can catch them on ebay next week :-)

Yo owe it to yourself..

..to see the documentary Gasland ASAP! To give you an idea of how serious the issue is, it's one of the only times you'll ever hear me say that lighting something on fire is really not cool:

One of the things I couldn't help but notice during my stay in Rifle Colorado was just how many natural gas drilling rigs there were pockmarked all over the landscape. Like ALL OVER. It. was. awful! They actually mention Rifle in the film as one of the first places where long term studies have been done as to the effect of Hydraulic Fracturing on the local environment..

Every time I went up to the plateaus to hang and take photos some HUGE truck would come barreling over the hill completely fucking up the serenity of the area. I felt so bad for all those people living up there having to not only look at that loud ugly ass shit all over the place but now having a better idea what I'm sure a lot of them go through on a daily basis health wise is MENTAL..

Seeing and experiencing shit like that makes me want to gather all of the fucking scum bags who make that shit possible not only KNOWING what the potential health threats are to the average hardworking PEOPLE who live in the effected areas but LYING to them as well and toss them all into a big huge blender, grind them up into tiny little pieces, then put them to better use as fertilizer since clearly that's all they're good for. Fuckers..

Anyways, I'm really hoping they don't continue to completely fuck up the rest of PA and start up in NYS cause then I along with the rest of my local constituants will be fucked too!

If you feel like being really pissed off too be sure to find yourself a copy! I'd link to thepiratebay.com but that shit ain't working right now for some reason..

The DA10 glory days..

..when it was at it's height:

Yeah, things got a bit out of hand..

Believe it or not, a good portion of what's pictured there is long gone- the Nagasawa included! I know, crazy huh? Tho I will say it feels really good to have all of that stuff gone. To be honest, I'm not even remotely bummed about it either! I'm just that much more stoked to get my own frames going. Which is why while I did sell pretty much all my frames, I didn't really sell a whole lot of components :-)

Just got this in the mail today:

Stoked!

Nice sticker packet too:

I've been dying to get this set up ever since RS came out with em and mmmMAN are these ever super fuckin' sweet! I first saw them in person at NAHBS but now that I have more than a moment to oggle them I'm that much more impressed. Can't wait for my frame building gear to get here already! I'm getting way super sick of all this spring cleaning and ebay BS. Hopefully I get working on prepping this stuff in the next couple weeks :-)

Okay, I think this C Record Track group is gonna be the last of it..

SO bitchin'!

Also tossed this sweet NIB Kimori Keirin rear brake adapter up there too:

Love it but I just don't need it anymore..

So yeah, I think that's about it for now. I'm so far behind my usual posts it's not even funny! Gonna try and catch up with that this week with any luck..
