Honestly not being a dick here, but, besides being rare or something along those lines, why is this bike so expensive? I mean would you even notice the difference in the way it rides from that of a nicer contemporary bike? Or is this just more of a collector's thing?
Answering your query properly could take up another whole blog post man. As for the paramounts, they're super pretty and nice and all but what it comes down to is that they're very sought after. They're not even that so super rare. It's just a very classic American bike. As far as ridability goes, NOS gear is lovely but the old used stuff blows. I'd take 80's to current gear over anything else. The quality and durability is much better for the most part..

Most likely, doubt it would fit in there if it was a 27". Don't think they made any of those old Paramounts in anything but a 700c wheel size..
